Empowering Education: Gyeonggi Province Takes Bold Steps to Safeguard Student Activities
Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Strengthens ‘Culture of Protecting Educational Activities’ in Schools
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is taking proactive steps to fortify the ‘culture of protecting educational activities’ in schools, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for students, teachers, and guardians alike.
To achieve this goal, the office will host an ‘Educational Activity Protection Instructor Achievement Sharing and Empathy Talk’ on the 24th. This event aims to share practical examples of educational activity violation prevention education conducted with educational activity protection instructors and gather opinions on the second half lectures.
The ‘Educational Activity Protection Instructor’ program consists of 141 dedicated professionals, including principals, vice principals, teachers, and educational experts. These instructors visit schools directly to provide case-based preventive education to students, guardians, and teachers, promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
In the first half of this year, the program successfully visited 223 schools in the province, including kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and special schools. A total of 7,754 teachers and 7,345 students and their guardians received education to prevent infringement on educational activities.
The program covered essential topics such as types of infringement on educational activities, proper methods of guidance on life, guidelines for responding to school complaints, and child abuse. The training was tailored to address current issues and characteristics of each school, ensuring that the education provided was relevant and effective.
Looking ahead to the second half of the year, the provincial office of education plans to enhance the quality of lectures by having instructors demonstrate their lectures and share opinions with each other. This collaborative approach will ensure stable preventive education and promote a culture of protecting educational activities.
An official from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity of instructors who protect educational activities. By doing so, the office aims to create a happy and safe school environment where teachers are respected and students are valued.
