Yamagata University reorganized from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Regional Education and Culture in 2005, and has continued to develop a teacher training system in collaboration with the local community, while training teachers with a comprehensive, practical, and regional perspective. Therefore, our university has repeatedly exchanged opinions with various education-related organizations, including Yamagata Prefecture, and has decided to reorganize into the Faculty of Education from 2026 in order to train teachers who can respond to such issues. I considered it. We are announcing this initiative because we believe that current high school students and their parents will have a significant impact on their career choices. This is the first time in 21 years that a department specializing in teacher training has been established at our university.

・Kindergarten teacher license type 1
・Elementary school teacher license
・Junior high school teacher license (Japanese language, social studies, mathematics, science, music, art, health and physical education, English)
・High school teaching license (Japanese language, geography and history, mathematics, science, music, art, health and physical education, English)
*In addition to the above, we aim to establish a first-class high school teaching license (civics, information).
