NGO Plan International is hosting a run to support girls’ rights and gender equality in Paris on October 5, 2024, just a few days before International Day of the Girl.
The solidarity race, organized by Plan International, is a unique event in the capital city of Paris, focusing on girls’ rights. This is the second time the event has been held. On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the event will take place in the Bois de Boulogne, featuring a 10km timed race, a 5km run, and a leisurely walk of the same distance for children aged 6 and over, depending on fitness level. Participants can choose between two paths.
The Run for Girls aims to raise awareness of equality between girls and boys in France and around the world. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Plan International, which will use the funds to promote equal access to education and fight against female genital mutilation, forced marriage, and other forms of violence against young women. The event seeks to take concrete steps to combat discrimination and violence.
Several celebrities will participate in the run and speak out together on October 11th, World Girls’ Human Rights Day, just a few days after the event. A panel discussion will also be held to raise awareness of human rights. A group warm-up program will be available at the village located in Bois de Boulogne before the race.
Join the movement and run in solidarity for girls’ rights on October 5, 2024.
