Back to School 2024-2025: Togo’s Head of Government Urges Students to Strive for Excellence
The new school year 2024-2025 has begun on a positive note in Togo, with over 3 million students returning to class on September 16, 2024.
Ms Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, the Head of Government, has taken to her social media accounts to wish students, teachers, and parents a happy back to school season. In her message, she emphasized the importance of diligence, curiosity, determination, and discipline in achieving academic success.

Togo’s Commitment to Quality Education
The Togolese government has been working tirelessly to improve the country’s education system. Since 2020, the government has implemented various strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Togo.
Socio-Economic Developments
The government’s efforts have yielded positive results, with significant progress recorded in various sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, energy, and drinking water.
According to the Head of Government, the execution rate of the Roadmap (FDR 2020-2025) has reached 75%, with notable advances in various areas. The country’s economic growth has also increased from 2% in 2020 to 6.4% in 2023, with a projected growth rate of 6.6% for 2024.
The government attributes this success to a significant increase in public investments, which have risen from 394.2 billion CFA francs in 2020 to 559.3 billion CFA francs in 2024.
