[경기인터넷신문=이은미 기자] Pohang City announced that the ‘Gyeongbuk Youth-led Parenting Awareness Improvement Festa’ was held at Pohang University on the 3rd.

This event, hosted by the Pohang Youth Chamber, was an event to raise awareness of the importance of child care and family under the theme of ‘Happy family recipes that the whole family can enjoy together’, and about 2,000 citizens participated.

Pre-ceremony events included comedian Cho Seung-hee’s comfortable talk show and a Marine Corps honor guard performance, and not only an experience booth for children, but also a couple’s psychology and child psychology counseling center were permanently operated.

Also, at the official event, there was a talk concert by instructor Kim Mi-kyung about the importance of communication between families, and a mini sports day with fathers and a celebratory performance were held simultaneously at the outdoor event venue.

A citizen who participated in the event said, “The psychological counseling and talk concert I participated in with my family gave us an opportunity to understand each other’s feelings that we didn’t even know about as a family, and it made us think once again about the importance of communication.”

Buk-gu Mayor Jang Jong-yong said, “As the low birth rate is worsening, various social problems are occurring. I hope that today’s event will serve as an opportunity to recognize that a harmonious family with children is the happiness of life, and that the family-friendly atmosphere will further spread.” He said.
