[세계로컬타임즈] On the 24th, the Goyang City Community Security Council Health Division conducted HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination education titled, “Choice for a healthy tomorrow, start with cervical cancer vaccination” at the National Korea Kyungjin School in Madu-dong, Goyang City.
This training was designed to provide information on cervical cancer and vaccinations to parents of students at the National Korea Kyungjin School for the health of their children, and to raise awareness of cervical cancer and improve the vaccination rate in Goyang City.
On this day, Eun-soo Choi, a head nurse at the Nursing Headquarters of the National Cancer Center, gave a lecture on ▲Introduction to the HPV National Vaccination Support Project ▲Risks and prevention methods of cervical cancer ▲Necessity and effectiveness of the HPV vaccine ▲Current status of HPV vaccination, etc.
The education emphasized that the HPV vaccine is a major means of preventing cervical cancer, and detailed information was provided on the vaccination program supported by the state. Parents who attended the education promised to actively participate in the vaccination of their children.
Choi Jeong-mi, head of the health division of the council that hosted this training (team leader of the National Cancer Center Operations Support Team), said, “I hope that this training will further increase the vaccination rate in Goyang Special City, and that it will provide parents with the correct information about the HPV vaccine and an opportunity to protect their children’s health.” She also said, “The health division of the council plans to continue to promote various activities to promote the health of Goyang Special City citizens and future generations of children.”
In the future, the health division of the council plans to receive applications for HPV vaccination for low-income vulnerable groups and use donations to provide free vaccinations. In addition, customized case education will be provided to the 44 local community security councils in Goyang City to respond to various health-related needs in the region and discover feasible and creative health projects.
