Empowering Young People in Burkina Faso through Mobile Phone and Tablet Repair Training
The Orange Digital Center Club at the Nazi University of Boni (UNB) in Bobo-Dioulasso recently hosted the launch ceremony of a training program for 30 young individuals in mobile phone and tablet repair. This initiative, led by Orange Burkina Faso, aims to equip participants with the necessary technical skills to become self-employed or enhance their employability in the job market.
Training for Employability and Professional Autonomy
The one-month training course, totaling 230 hours, is organized by the Orange Digital Center Solidarity FabLab. Under the supervision of Moroccan experts, participants will master mobile phone and tablet repair techniques, gaining skills directly relevant to their future profession. This initiative is accessible to young people between the ages of 18 and 35, with at least BEPC level, following a rigorous selection process of over 500 applications.

Professor Hassan Bismark NACRO, President of Nazi Boni University, emphasized the importance of training qualified technicians for repairing mobile phones and tablets, stating that it provides them with the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the digital economy. He expressed gratitude to Orange Burkina Faso for this initiative, highlighting its timeliness in the context of digital transformation.
Encouragement for Beneficiaries
Cheick DIALLO, Regional Director of Orange Burkina in Bobo Dioulasso, encouraged the young beneficiaries to demonstrate diligence and perseverance during the training. “You are the pioneers of this initiative in Bobo-Dioulasso. By investing fully, you will become role models and key players in the technological development of our country,” he said.
