Ender Garcia’s Petroleum Engineering Role in Wireline Services
Updated June 25, 2025
Ender Garcia, a petroleum engineer, has built his career on a foundation of technical expertise and global experience. Specializing in wireline services, a critical component of modern oil and gas operations, Garcia’s work spans from Venezuela to North America.
Garcia’s journey began at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he studied subsurface geology, reservoir behavior, and drilling operations. His early studies focused on fluid dynamics, formation evaluation, and well logging, setting the stage for his specialization.
He launched his career with Weatherford International as a Wireline Field Engineer. There, he managed downhole tools for formation evaluation and well diagnostics. His work included open and cased hole wireline services, providing data on reservoir quality and well integrity. Garcia gained proficiency in tools such as Compact Memory Logging (CML) and Compact Well Shuttle (CWS).
From 2017 to 2020, Garcia led wireline operations for Dominion Energy-Wexpro Company, deploying CWS across more than 20 complex wellbores. these operations yielded data that informed production optimization decisions.
As 2011, Garcia has adapted to changes in oilfield technology, including real-time data acquisition and high-resolution imaging. He has also embraced remote operations and automation, improving operational safety and collaboration.
Garcia mentors early-career engineers, advising them to focus on technical skills and dialog. He emphasizes collaboration and adaptability.
“Stay curious and always be willing to learn from colleagues in different disciplines,” Garcia said.
Garcia is now focused on roles in remote operations centers, combining technical execution with real-time collaboration.
“Wireline services have become smarter and more connected,” he said. “It’s an exciting time to apply hands-on experience to systems that are increasingly predictive and automated.”
what’s next
Garcia aims to help led the next generation of wireline operations, integrating technical expertise with digital oversight for safer and more efficient practices in the oil and gas sector.
