by Lisa Park - Tech Editor

Barcelona, Spain – – Epson is showcasing a new generation of professional display and education projectors at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026, currently underway at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via. The company’s presence, located at stand J100 in Hall 3, centers around two new projector models – the EB-XQ2030B and the EB-870Ei – alongside a new series of lenses designed to support its high-brightness projector range.

High-Brightness Projection with the EB-XQ2030B

Epson is highlighting the EB-XQ2030B, which the company claims is the world’s smallest and lightest 30,000-lumen 4K projector. This projector is aimed at high-brightness installation and rental applications. The EB-XQ2030B’s compact size and reduced weight are intended to lower costs associated with transport, storage, and installation, as well as reduce packaging waste. The projector utilizes Epson’s proprietary technologies and is compatible with the 4K quality interchangeable lens range already available for the EB-PU series.

Interactive Education with the EB-870Ei

Alongside the high-brightness EB-XQ2030B, Epson is also debuting the EB-870Ei, an interactive ultra-short-throw projector specifically designed for educational environments. This new model expands Epson’s offerings for the education sector, providing a solution for engaging and collaborative learning experiences.

Expanding Lens Options

Complementing the new projectors is a new series of lenses, supporting the full range of Epson’s high-brightness projectors, from 6,000 to 30,000 lumens. This expanded lens range provides installers and users with greater flexibility in adapting the projectors to various installation scenarios and screen sizes.

Immersive Experiences: Infinity Installation

Epson’s ISE 2026 exhibit isn’t solely focused on hardware. The company is also showcasing its capabilities in creating immersive environments with “Infinity,” a multi-sensory projection installation. Inspired by the movement of photons, Infinity surrounds visitors with shifting light, color, and reflections, demonstrating the potential of projection technology to create engaging and experiential spaces. According to Massimo Pizzocri, Vice President, Epson Europe, the goal at ISE 2026 is to allow visitors to do more than simply look at projection — we want them to see it and feel it. The installation aims to illustrate how projection can shape spaces, create emotion, and deliver experiences beyond the traditional screen.

Beyond ISE 2026: A Look Back at Previous Innovations

Epson has been actively developing and showcasing projection technology at ISE for several years. At ISE 2024, the company displayed the EB-PQ2220B, described as the world’s smallest and lightest 4K 20,000 lumens projector, announced in early 2023. The EB-PQ2220B incorporates Epson’s 4K Crystal Motion, panel thermo-control, and double micro-lens array technologies for optimal clarity. Epson also demonstrated a giant immersive projection umbrella at ISE 2024, inspired by international festivals, and showcased how its projectors can transform corporate spaces.

The ISE 2024 exhibit also featured the EB-PU2100 and 2200 series projectors, building on the success of the EB-PU2200 series with a focus on easy installation, simplified maintenance, and high image quality. Epson’s presence at ISE 2024, held from to , highlighted the company’s commitment to visual communication technology and immersive experiences.

Epson’s Broader Strategy

Epson’s continued investment in projection technology, as evidenced by its presence at both ISE 2024 and ISE 2026, underscores the company’s position as a key player in the professional display and visual communication markets. The focus on both high-brightness projectors for large venues and interactive projectors for education suggests a strategy of diversifying its offerings to meet the needs of a broad range of customers. The emphasis on reducing the size and weight of its projectors, as seen with the EB-PQ2220B and the EB-XQ2030B, also points to a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
