New York City Mayor Eric Adams is under fire after hosting controversial influencer Sneako at Gracie Mansion on Saturday. The event,a livestream conversation,has drawn criticism given Sneako’s history of alleged antisemitic comments and previous bans from platforms like YouTube and Twitch.
Sneako, whose real name is nicolas “Nico” Kenn De Balinthazy, has reportedly appeared on livestreams with figures like white nationalist Nick Fuentes and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. He allegedly promoted the song “Heil Hitler” during one such appearance.
Rep. Ritchie Torres,D-N.Y., publicly criticized Adams for hosting Sneako, referencing past statements allegedly made by the streamer. “Who’s next on the guest list—David Duke?” torres posted on X.
The mayor’s office defended Adams, emphasizing his commitment to fighting antisemitism. A spokesperson stated that Adams has “always stood strongly with the Jewish community” and has a “long and proud record” of supporting Jewish causes.
