Wrestling analyst Eric Bischoff recently weighed in on the online chatter surrounding Blake Monroe,the new WWE moniker for former AEW talent Mariah May. The blake Monroe WWE name has raised eyebrows because of its similarity to that of an adult film performer. Bischoff, tho, downplayed the significance of the association.
Speaking on the “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff suggested that today’s entertainment culture is largely immune to such perceived controversies. He stated that society has become desensitized, making the name overlap a non-issue.
“I think as a culture, speaking about entertainment culture, we’ve gotten so numb to every extreme of extreme that’s out there. It’s just another day in the office anymore,” Bischoff said. “I don’t think it matters at all. I don’t think it matters to advertisers anymore, provided that it’s driving audience… as long as it’s working from an ad revenue point of view, I just don’t think people care anymore.”
