This victory marks Errani and Paolini’s second consecutive title, following their win at the Italian Open. This is Paolini’s frist grand Slam title. Errani has six.
Later today, Jannik Sinner will face Carlos Alcaraz in a highly anticipated Roland garros final. This marks their first Grand slam final encounter, and the 12th overall match between the world’s top two players.
Alcaraz currently leads their head-to-head record 7-4, having won their last four matches. He is also the defending champion. This final represents a generational shift, being the first men’s Slam final between two players born in the 2000s.
