Escalating Tensions: Hezbollah Unleashes Fresh Assault on Israel, Lebanon Airstrikes Intensify
Israeli Army Launches Additional Attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon
The Israeli army announced on September 21st that they had launched additional attacks against ’targets’ belonging to the Lebanese armed faction Hezbollah.
According to AFP, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are “currently attacking targets belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon.”
At least 16 members of Hezbollah had been killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the previous day (20th).
The Israeli army did not provide details about the ‘targeted attack’, but according to Al Jazeera, reporters at the scene reported that there had been more than 15 attacks in southern Lebanon in 15 minutes.
Israel is identified as the mastermind behind the pager and radio terrorist attacks that erupted in various parts of Lebanon on the 17th and 18th.
Then, on the 20th, an airstrike in Beirut killed Hezbollah’s top commander, Ibrahim Aqil, and another senior commander, Ahmad Ahmad Wahhabi.
While Hezbollah has declared retaliation for a series of Israeli attacks, Israel has not relented and continues to carry out additional attacks, increasing tensions in the Middle East.
