ESPN PGA Tour Broadcast: What You Need to Know

by David Thompson - Sports Editor

PGA Tour Coverage Returns ‍to ‌ESPN for ‌Farmers Insurance Open

PGA Tour golf will be broadcast on ESPN’s linear cable network this week for the first time in nearly two decades, starting ⁤with first and second round coverage of the Farmers Insurance Open. The PGA Tour announced‌ the ⁣move on Monday, January 27, ⁤2026, adding ESPN to it’s usual ⁢broadcast⁢ lineup of ESPN+, Golf Channel, and CBS.

The broadcast expansion to ⁤ESPN’s cable channels is a one-week⁣ “test” and does not represent a⁢ new agreement or ‌additional rights fee for the Tour, according⁢ to a source with knowledge‌ of the agreement. The ESPN broadcast will simulcast the ESPN+ feed and will conclude‌ before Golf Channel’s coverage ‍begins ⁤each evening. Currently, the schedule only includes coverage of this week’s Farmers Insurance Open.

The return ⁤to ESPN coincides ‌with the highly anticipated PGA Tour ‍debut⁢ of Brooks Koepka, who is competing after nearly four seasons with LIV Golf.

More data about the PGA Tour’s media plans for 2026 can be⁢ found on golf.com.
