Este Haim, of the band Haim, recently shared details about her surprising stint as a music consultant on the second season of HBO’s hit series, “The White Lotus.” The revelation came during the Haim sisters’ appearance on Watch What Happens.
Haim’s involvement with the show, filmed in Sicily, began during a break for the band in 2023. Recovering from a breakup, Haim received a call from a producer friend that changed her plans. “I had gone through a really shitty breakup and I’m friends with one of the producers on the show… I picked up the phone when he called. I was bawling. He’s like, ‘We’re not doing this anymore, you’re coming to Sicily,'” Haim said.
The “music consultant” role placed Haim alongside actors Beatrice Grannò and Federico Scribani, who played singers on the show. Her responsibilities included guiding them through the songs and helping them connect emotionally with the music.
“I was helping them learn the songs, do the songs, emote to the camera… Honestly, I basically just grifted my way to the show. Real talk,” she said. “[Haim] couldn’t tour. We basically had three months off, so my idea was ‘I should just stay [in Sicily].’ But I needed to be doing something.”
Haim previously joked about being the “director of fun” on set,organizing parties for the cast during filming. “I was on set and I was having the best time, and I’m like ‘Can I work here?’ to my friend, the producer. And I got the job,” Haim said.
