The rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will take place on Sept. 20 in London.

Turki Alalshikh — the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and owner of Ring Magazine who will promote the fight — confirmed the news on Sunday.

Eubank Jr. won their first encounter at a sold out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by unanimous decision in April. The contest was a thrilling one and led to calls of a rematch, which Alalshikh said in the aftermath would be planned for September.

Sept. 27 was the date originally floated, but with Tottenham due to play Wolves at home that day, the Sept. 20 date has been rubber stamped, although a venue has not been announced.

Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said both sides are contractually obligated to host the fight in Tottenham, but that could yet change.

“Spurs is contracted, it’s a fantastic stadium and it worked extremely well the first time,” Hearn told Ring Magazine.

“Obviously, it was sold out and this fight’s even bigger, so you could possibly look at Wembley to increase the capacity, but that will be a decision for His Excellency and Ring Magazine to make the final call.”

The first fight attracted major attention due to the history between their fathers: Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr. as well as the animosity between the two sons.

They were scheduled to fight in 2022 until Benn tested positive for a banned substance and the bout was called off.

He was cleared to fight in Nov. 2024.

When the fight eventually rescheduled, it provided plenty of drama both build up and in the ring. Eubank Jr. slapped his rival in the face with an egg at the launch news conference. Benn fired back with taunts about the breakdown in the relationship between Eubank Sr. and his son.

While Eubank Sr. — a British boxing legend — maintained he did not want the fight to happen and did not support it, there was another twist on fight night, when he arrived alongside his son, the sight of which on the screen at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium drew the biggest cheer of the contest.

The bout itself was 12 brutal rounds of action, which Eubank Jr. won on points but left fans wanting more.
