Euphoria’ Stars Collide: Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi Go Head-to-Head at TIFF
Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi Shine at TIFF with ‘Eden’ and ‘On Swift Horses’
Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, known for their roles as Cassie and Nate in the hit HBO series Euphoria, made their individual film debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) with Eden and On Swift Horses, respectively.
Elordi, famous for playing the complex and troubled Nate in Euphoria, takes on a new role as a drifter who finds love in unexpected places in On Swift Horses. Meanwhile, Sweeney, who plays the party girl Cassie in Euphoria, stars as Margret, a dutiful wife, in Ron Howard’s survival thriller Eden.
At the premiere of On Swift Horses, Elordi’s co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones praised his charisma and chemistry on screen. “It’s not hard to have chemistry with Jacob,” she said. “He’s so charismatic. Honestly, it’s so subtle and smart to film these scenes and the interpersonal dynamics and relationships between them.”
Sweeney, who worked with Ron Howard on Eden, expressed her admiration for the director. “Every actor’s dream is to work with Ron,” she said. “I grew up loving your movies, but it wasn’t until I got to work with you that I realized what an incredible human being you are.”
Both films received rave reviews at TIFF, with On Swift Horses being sold by UTA Independent Film Group and Eden being sold by CAA, with AGC Studios handling international sales.
As for Euphoria, production is set to resume in January, with Sweeney hoping to explore the darker side of her character Cassie’s personality in the upcoming season.
