In a thrilling display of international motorcycle racing, Team Europe emerged victorious in the first-ever FIM Intercontinental Games, a unique event that pitted riders from six continents against each other.
The competition, held over the weekend, featured riders from WorldSSP, WorldSSP300, and WorldWCR, showcasing the best talent from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania.
Pole Positions Set the Stage for Intense Battles
Saturday saw Dino Iozzo of Africa secure pole position in the Supersport class, edging out Europe’s Humberto Maier by a mere 0.369 seconds. Meanwhile, Gonzalo sanchez, representing Europe, claimed pole in the Supersport 300 class, besting Oceania’s Archie McDonald.
Drama and Red Flags Mark the Races
The Supersport 300 races were filled with drama. Aldi Mahendra of Asia capitalized on a crash by pole-sitter sanchez to take victory in the first race. the Supersport race saw a red flag after a crash by Africa’s Clint Seller, handing the win to South America’s Humberto Maier.The second Supersport 300 race saw another twist as Mahendra initially crossed the finish line first, only to be penalized for irresponsible riding, relegating him to third. This handed the victory to Latin America’s nahuel Santamaria, with Sanchez recovering from his earlier crash to secure second place.

The final race, held in wet conditions, added another layer of excitement. Asia’s Soichiro Minamimoto and Apiwath Wongthananon took first and second, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the strong performance of team Europe.
Elia Bartolini, Enzo De La Vega, and Valentin Folger, all representing Europe, finished in the top 10, securing enough points to clinch the historic victory for their continent.

Individual accolades were also presented. Asia’s Mahendra was recognized as the highest-scoring male rider in the Supersport 300 class, while Josephine Bruno took home the female prize in the same category.
