Will Ferrell is bringing the spirit of the “Eurovision Song Contest” to Broadway, adapting his 2020 Netflix film, “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga,” into a stage musical. The movie, which starred Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, followed an Icelandic musical duo’s improbable journey to the international singing competition.
Ferrell, who previously appeared on Broadway in his one-man show about George W. Bush, is co-writing the musical’s book with Harper Steele and Anthony King. Alex Timbers, known for directing “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and “Beetlejuice,” will direct. Savan Kotecha is set to handle the music.
