This innovative component represents the first prospective study of its kind in Spain. Researchers will screen 4,000 children aged 3 to ⁤13 during routine pediatric ⁣check-ups across ⁤health centers in⁢ Bizkaia, gipuzkoa, and Álava. This broad-based approach aims to identify⁤ children who might potentially be developing type 1 ⁢diabetes but haven’t ⁢yet exhibited noticeable symptoms.

Screening First-Degree Relatives of Individuals with Type 1 Diabetes
