Nathalie Simard est prête à incarner sœur Marguerite dans la nouvelle production musicale, Évangéline.Cette œuvre théâtrale dépeint une histoire d’amour poignante se déroulant durant la déportation des Acadiens, inspirée du célèbre poème d’Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Cette création originale raconte l’histoire d’Évangéline Bellefontaine (Maude Cyr-Deschênes) et sa détermination à retrouver son bien-aimé, Gabriel Lajeunesse (Olivier Dion). Ils ont été séparés lors de la déportation des Acadiens en 1755.Les personnages sont inspirés du poème épique Évangéline d’Henry W.Longfellow.
Une production ancrée dans la culture acadienne et mi’kmaq
La production a mis un point d’honneur à refléter l’ADN local en choisissant des interprètes acadiens pour les rôles appropriés, notamment Maude Cyr-Deschênes et Raphaël Butler, tous deux originaires du nouveau-Brunswick. Les créateurs ont également souhaité honorer les liens entre le peuple acadien et la Nation mi’kmaq, en créant un personnage autochtone nommé Hanoah, interprété par Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo.
Pour respecter les réalités de cette nation autochtone, la production a engagé le rappeur et auteur-compositeur-interprète de Gesgapegiag, Quentin Condo, alias Q052, en tant que consultant.

Nathalie Simard n’a pas hésité à accepter l’offre de jean-Jacques Pillet et de la directrice artistique musicale Anne Vivien de participer au spectacle. Elle avait déjà collaboré avec M. Pillet en 1995 dans une adaptation de la comédie musicale Demain matin, Montréal m’attend de Michel Tremblay, un rôle qu’elle a repris au Casino de Montréal.

Nathalie Simard est présente dans le premier extrait de la trame musicale du spectacle, la chanson-thème des amants légendaires. Sa voix se mêle à celles de Matthieu Lévesque, Maude Cyr-deschênes, Olivier Dion, Océane Kitura Bohémier-Tootoo, Raphaël Butler et Soleil Launière, dont la voix imprègne le spectacle.
Évangéline sera présenté du 5 au 8 février 2026 à la salle Wilfrid-Pelletier de la Place des arts, à Montréal, puis du 13 au 15 mars 2026 au Grand Théâtre de Québec, ainsi que les 24 et 25 juillet 2026 au Center Avenir de Moncton.
