Community Cat Timmy Targeted Again in Everton Park, This Time With Scissors
A beloved community cat in Everton Park, Singapore, has once again been the target of harassment, this time involving a man allegedly cutting patches of its fur with a pair of scissors. The incident, captured on closed-circuit television footage, was posted on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to Instagram by the account @timmytheblackcat_, dedicated to the black cat named Timmy.
The video shows a man, dressed in a brown T-shirt and shorts, approaching Timmy while wearing gloves and holding scissors. He then grabs the cat, which was resting in its usual spot and pins it down before using the scissors to cut its fur. The footage reportedly shows the man continuing to cut Timmy’s fur even as the cat struggles to free itself.
Timmy eventually escaped and fled, but the man reportedly chased after the feline. After briefly cleaning the scissors, he again pursued Timmy, who ultimately hid in a drain.

This is not the first time Timmy has been subjected to harassment. In May 2025, residents of Everton Park confronted a man after he was caught on video spitting water into Timmy’s sleeping area. The man initially claimed he was “just rinsing his mouth,” according to reports.
Timmy is a well-known figure in the Everton Park community, with residents and shopkeepers regularly taking turns to feed him, clean his sleeping area, and provide veterinary care when needed. A dedicated cat bed has been set up for him at the corner of a void deck, complete with a photo and a sign displaying his name. Neighbors have frequently shared photos of Timmy online, showing him resting on benches, in baskets, and even curled up inside flower pots.
Netizens Express Concern and Outrage
The recent video sparked a wave of concern and outrage online, with many netizens expressing worry for Timmy’s safety and offering suggestions for his protection.
One user wrote, “Poor Timmy. He must have been so traumatised and I’m worried that this guy might strike again. Perhaps you can consider getting a pet tag with a camera! It might serve as a deterrence!”
Another user urged, “Bring him indoor immediately otherwise he no longer around anymore.”
Some commenters speculated that the man may have special needs, but emphasized that this did not excuse his behavior. One user stated, “Special needs is not a free pass for crime. Waving it will only cause others to unfairly stigmatise the wider community.”
Another commenter noted a previous incident involving the man, stating, “I think previously his sister spoke up. He may be special needs but does no one check his bag before he goes out? Last time pen knife. Now armed with scissors and even gloves? Does it take for someone to get hurt before they will step up?”
