Abdel Baset Hamouda on Collaborating with Yasmin Abdel Aziz
Artist Abdel Baset Hamouda recently shared his experience working with Yasmin Abdel Aziz on a promotional ad. In an interview with Mona El-Shajli on the program “With You,” Hamouda revealed that Ahmed Al-Awadi was the link between him and Abdel Aziz, despite their separation.
Hamouda explained that Al-Awadi approached him with requests for advertisements and plays, which eventually led to his collaboration with Abdel Aziz. He recalled a conversation with Al-Awadi, saying, “I came in and he said to me, ‘Where are you going?’ I replied, ‘Ho, ho, Yasmin Abdel Aziz Qamar,’ and he laughed the whole time.”

Hamouda also shared a song that Abdel Aziz sang and wrote, quoting the lyrics: “Oh my eyes, it becomes difficult for him so quickly, I was singing a song and I found tears falling that said: Where is my age, who Buy, who is crazy? I’m wrong about that, I don’t.”

Hamouda and Abdel Aziz collaborated on an advertising campaign for a telecommunications company. Abdel Aziz is set to participate in a new series in Ramadan 2025, written by Amr Mahmoud Yassin and starring Karim Fahmy.

Abdel Aziz’s last work was the series “Dharb Naar,” which aired in Ramadan 2023. The series starred Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Al-Awadi, Majed Al-Masri, Hoda Al-Etrebi, Suhair Al-Morshedi, Ahmed Badir, Hisham Al-Meleghi, Donia Al-Masri, Isra Rakha, Ahmed Ghazi, Iman Al-Said, and Ahmed Abdullah.
