Mohammed Ramadan, Al-Ahly’s sporting director, has revealed that Tunisian player Ali Maloul’s current season with the Red Team will be his last.
Ramadan stated that the club has decided to renew Maloul’s contract for one more season as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the team throughout his career.
Maloul is currently recovering from a torn Achilles tendon injury he sustained during the CAF Champions League final against Esperance.
According to Ramadan, Maloul is expected to return to the field in November, after which he will need several weeks to regain his fitness.
During his recovery period, the team’s new coach, Marcel Koehler, will be in charge of the team’s decisions.
Maloul joined Al-Ahly in 2016 from CS Sfaxien in Tunisia and has been an integral part of the team since then.
Despite being removed from the squad list for the new season, Maloul’s contract has been renewed for one more season, and he has been placed on the waiting list.
