Moncler and Jony Ive Unveil Exclusive Co-Branded Jacket Series

Moncler has joined forces with Apple’s former chief designer, Jony Ive, to create a new series of co-branded jackets. This marks the first time the two have collaborated, resulting in a unique and innovative collection.

The collaboration project was led by Jony Ive and Moncler President and CEO Remo Ruffini, who brought together their teams to demonstrate friendship and mutual respect through design. The series features unique fabrics, exquisite details, and reinterpreted understated buttons, showcasing Jony’s exceptional design skills and Moncler’s superb craftsmanship and creativity.

“I think the people we collaborate with are more important than the projects we collaborate on. This collaboration was easy and fun, and we both learned a lot from each other. What makes me most happy is that this subtle and elegant collection marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration.” – Jony Ive

“Collaborating with Jony is an extraordinary journey. Not only is he an internationally renowned maestro and a legend in the world of contemporary design, but during the process of collaboration you will also realize that what always comes first is Love, friendship and respect, because they are always at the center of creativity and ideation.” – Remo Ruffini

Design Inspiration and Features

The design is inspired by Moncler’s new, innovatively developed, premium regenerated nylon. This fiber material was developed specifically for the LoveFrom collaboration series and is treated with warp dyeing and air jet spinning. The air jet spinning process uses compressed air to structure the yarn, creating a matte finish and giving the fabric a natural, fiber-like texture.

Each piece is made from a single piece of fabric folded to create a unique, seamless shape. The exquisitely designed magnetic “two-button buckle” is the centerpiece of this collaborative series, and each jacket uses a unique layering system to connect the inner lining. The two parts of the magnetic buckle are made of high-quality aluminum, brass, steel, and heat-resistant magnets.

Key Features:

  • Unique fabrics and exquisite details
  • Reinterpreted understated buttons
  • Premium regenerated nylon
  • Warp dyeing and air jet spinning process
  • Magnetic “two-button buckle” centerpiece
  • Unique layering system for inner lining
