In a recent development, the New Cairo misdemeanor court upheld the prison sentence of the accused who disabled Egyptian media personality Iman Al-Hosari for two years from work.
The New Cairo Misdemeanor District Court sentenced the doctor to two years in prison with labor and required him to post bail for his charges in Case No. 7691 of 2021, Misdemeanor, Fifth Division, New Cairo.
The Incident and Its Aftermath
The incident occurred in April 2021, when Iman Al-Hosari was admitted to a hospital for bowel and colon surgery. However, his condition suddenly and rapidly deteriorated, nearly killing him.
It was discovered that the doctor who performed the surgery made a medical error, which led to a new surgery to treat it. Unfortunately, the doctor made several other errors, resulting in Iman Al-Hosari undergoing 7 consecutive surgeries in 21 days.
