News from this newspaper A few days ago, the 2024 Ya’an Primary and Secondary School Tennis Championships concluded at the Fengyu Tennis Court of Ya’an Sports Center. This event is hosted by the Ya’an Municipal Education Bureau and the Ya’an Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism Bureau.

On November 2, the 2024 Ya’an Primary and Secondary School Tennis Championships officially began. 15 teams and 212 athletes from schools in counties (districts) across the city participated in the competition. This competition is divided into primary school groups, middle school and high school groups according to grades, and competitions in a total of 13 events including men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and teams will be held respectively.

It is reported that tennis education has been included in the “Ya’an City Five-Year Action Plan for Sports and Art Education for Primary and Secondary School Students”. The competition is held to select and reserve outstanding reserve talents and provide continuous impetus for the development of youth tennis in Ya’an City.
