Olivier Metzger Exhibition at La Filature, Mulhouse
La Filature in Mulhouse honors photographer Olivier Metzger with an exhibition titled “Olivier Metzger: Toutes les nuits tu restais là.” Olivier Metzger was born in Mulhouse in 1973 and died in a road accident in November 2022.
Metzger graduated from ENSP Arles in 2004. He gained recognition for his portraits, which featured unique storytelling. His style was notable for its intricate lighting and moody settings. Metzger’s work often captured the unusual, exploring what light could reveal about hidden emotions. David Lynch praised his series Smile (Forever) at Paris Photo in 2012.
In May 2022, Metzger created a project called Sodium during a residency in Soorts-Hossegor. This project focused on nighttime photography in the Landes region. He also developed the series Aux Lumières de la ville as part of a national commission from the Ministry of Culture. This series documented urban lighting during the health crisis.
The exhibition presents Metzger’s work and celebrates his contributions to photography. Visitors can appreciate his vision and artistic flair.
