The Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bengaluru is hosting a live viewing event for the BTS World Tour, inviting members of the global fan community known as ARMY to experience the concert through a cinema screening.
The event is taking place at the PVR INOX Megaplex located within the mall. This venue, which opened on April 11, 2024, is the largest cinema in Bengaluru and the largest PVR INOX property in South India.
Advanced Cinematic Infrastructure
The 14-screen Megaplex is designed as one of the city’s most advanced cinematic spaces, featuring a total seating capacity of 1,997. The facility utilizes 4K laser projection, Volfoni 3D screens, and advanced Dolby Atmos surround sound to provide an immersive audio-visual experience.
The venue incorporates three premium formats to differentiate the viewing experience:
- MX4D, which provides a multi-sensory, immersive 4D movie experience.
- ScreenX, a premium large screen format offering 270-degree cinema viewing.
- Insignia, a luxury cinema format with three dedicated auditoriums.
In addition to these premium formats, the cinema includes nine premiere auditoriums equipped with celebrity plush recliners in the final row.
PVR INOX Regional Expansion
The launch of the Phoenix Mall of Asia Megaplex on April 11, 2024, marked a significant expansion for PVR INOX in the Southern region. According to Managing Director Ajay Bijli, the region is a critical market due to the steady supply of regional content and strong consumer demand.
The addition of this facility increased PVR INOX’s presence in Bengaluru to 172 screens across 26 cinemas. Within the state of Karnataka, the company now operates 219 screens across 37 cinemas.
On a broader scale, the company has consolidated its presence in South India to a total of 572 screens across 100 different properties.
The introduction of MX4D and ScreenX at this location represents the first time these specific immersive formats have been available in South India.
