Creating a Welcoming Stadium for All: Urawa Reds’ Support for Assistance Dogs
At Urawa Reds home games, we strive to create a stadium environment that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their abilities. As part of this effort, we have been holding training sessions on how to accept assistance dogs and awareness events to ensure that people with assistance dogs can enjoy the game without worry.
We are proud to announce that we have donated a portion of the sales from our charity goods, featuring original Urawa Red Diamonds designs, to the Japan Guide Dog Association, a public interest incorporated foundation.
Donation Amount: 91,000 yen
The Japan Guide Dog Association will use this donation to support guide dog training programs, enabling blind or visually impaired individuals to live independently and participate in society.
What is an Assistance Dog?
Assistance dogs, including guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs, play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities, such as visual, hearing, or limb disabilities. These dogs undergo specialized training, and their users take responsibility for managing their hygiene and behavior. Facilities that accept assistance dogs are obligated by law to do so.
Encountering an Assistance Dog at the Stadium or in Town
- Assistance dogs are highly sensitive to their users’ instructions. Please observe them warmly and avoid distracting them with actions like talking, staring, or touching.
- If you see an assistance dog in need of support, please communicate with its user by asking, “Can I help you with anything?”
