New Interactive Experience: Museum of Ice Cream Opening in Boston

The Museum of Ice Cream will open in Boston’s Seaport on December 14. This family-friendly museum covers 12,300 square feet over two floors. It features 14 interactive “playscapes,” some designed with a Boston theme.

Visitors will enjoy unique attractions, including a pool of sprinkles and a cookie living room. The museum also offers a taste of lobster ice cream, a flavor exclusive to Boston.

Co-founder Manish Vora, a native of Wayland, expressed excitement about the museum’s opening. He noted that Boston has a strong appreciation for art and ice cream, making it the perfect location for this venue.

The Museum of Ice Cream started as a pop-up in New York City in 2016 and has since expanded to permanent locations in multiple cities worldwide. It has welcomed nearly 3 million visitors from over 80 countries.

Engaging Experiences

Vora stated that Boston demands excellence. He emphasized that the Boston museum will be the most interactive one yet. Admission includes five sweet treats, and visitors will explore various exhibits, including the “Fun Way Park,” which offers an ice cream carnival experience.

The museum will also have zones teaching the history and science of ice cream, along with opportunities for play. Visitors can slide down the double helix slide into the sprinkle pool. Guides throughout the museum will encourage interaction among guests.

Additional Offerings

The museum will offer new flavors and seasonal options, including dairy-free and gluten-free varieties. An on-site café will serve sundaes, milkshakes, and even local beer and wine. A retail shop will feature themed merchandise.

Tickets for the Museum of Ice Cream go on sale starting November 19. General admission begins at $33.99, and visitors can take as much time as they wish inside. The experience usually lasts about 90 minutes.

With diverse attractions and a playful atmosphere, the Museum of Ice Cream aims to enhance family tourism in Boston’s Seaport.
