OLLANTAY: A Timeless Tale of Forbidden Love
As part of its 74th anniversary celebration, the Juana Sujo School of Advanced Performing Arts, in collaboration with Trasnocho Cultural, presents the theatrical show “OLLANTAY”. This spectacular production features a talented cast, including leading actress Ana Castell, actors Costa Palamides and Vicente Pereda, and a host of other gifted actors and actresses.
Directed by Costa Palamides, “OLLANTAY” is a scenic masterpiece that combines singing, choreography, and acting to bring to life this classic of Spanish American theater. The production boasts impressive costume design and production by Ghilaine Latorraca, singing advice by maestro Claudio Muskus, lighting design by Gerónimo Reyes, and choreography by Luis Vicente González.
The story of “OLLANTAY” revolves around the forbidden love between Ollantay and Cusi-Cuyllur, the daughter of the Inca Pachacute. Despite the Inca’s opposition, the two lovers find a way to be together, ultimately triumphing over adversity and achieving a happy ending.
The performances will take place on Saturday, September 21 and 28, and Sunday, September 22 and 29, at 3 pm, in the Trasnocho Cultural Theater Hall. Tickets are available for $5 at the theater box office and through Ticketmundo.
