Discovering Bridgeport: Art, Dining, and History
Art in Bridgeport
Bridgeport boasts several historic buildings that host artists’ studios and galleries. Notable spots include the Bridgeport Art Center and the Zhou B Arts Center. On my recent visit, I discovered the Morgan Arts Complex at 3622 S. Morgan St. This venue serves as an event space and gallery. I loved exploring photography exhibitions there. The complex features a casual bar and restaurant, Dolce Arte, offering coffee, pastries, and meals throughout the day.

Next to Maria’s, you’ll find Kimski, a Korean-Polish street food restaurant. You can eat outside or in Maria’s new taproom.
On the west side of Bridgeport, Cadinho Bakery & Café offers Portuguese-style coffee and pastries. Their Pastéis de Nata, flaky egg custard tarts, are a must-try. After living in Portugal, owners Alejandra Rivera and Eric Carlson brought the flavors back to Bridgeport.
