Valerie spent 10 months creating the book, which features hand-drawn images of Hell’s Kitchen. She describes her work as both calming and therapeutic, enjoying the fine details in her drawings. Originally from California, Valerie moved to Hell’s Kitchen three years ago and quickly fell in love with the neighborhood’s vibrant mix of structures.
Valerie’s favorite buildings include an ivy-covered brownstone on W44th Street and a five-story building at W57th Street and 9th Avenue. She enjoys connecting with her community, frequenting local bars and restaurants like McCoys and Queen of Sheba.
