The Green View Residence is a multifamily building located in Ananda Bazaar, Netrakona, approximately 150 km north of Dhaka. It is situated near key landmarks, including a bus stand, LGED complex, and a local market. The site poses challenges due to its west-facing orientation and diagonal lines.
Design Features
The design incorporates service zones on the west, using solid walls, and features deep verandahs for shade and connection with nature.
Living Spaces
The building has two types of living areas: the first to third floors are for rent, while the fourth and fifth floors are for the landowner. Both types prioritize natural light and cross ventilation. Verandahs provide shade from the tropical sun and heavy rain.
Functional Elements
Planter boxes in the verandahs add greenery and insulation. Full-height openings allow transparent views, inviting natural light and fostering a connection with the outside.
Client’s Portion
The client’s section includes open terraces linked to living and dining areas. A double-height volume with a glass roof connects the upper levels and invites natural elements. The roof features a study room and a plantation area, enhancing the relationship with the city.
Materials
The facade uses red tile bricks to regulate heat and harmonize with the surroundings. The solid western facade creates an impression of monumentality.
Landscaping and Energy Efficiency
