On the afternoon of September 19, a series of aerial bombs exploded near the camp of the multifunctional engineering detachment of the 22nd Chinese peacekeeping force in Lebanon. The closest explosion point was approximately 730 meters away from the camp.
At the time of the incident, the officers and soldiers of the army were conducting physical training. Upon hearing the loud noise, they quickly took shelter in the bunker.
After the danger had passed, the peacekeepers inspected the camp and found that bomb fragments had been sprayed into the camp, causing varying degrees of damage to trees and concrete roads. The camp’s doors, windows, ceilings, mirrors, and other facilities were also affected by the shock wave and bomb fragments, resulting in varying degrees of damage. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The recent explosions of pagers (BBCall) and walkie-talkies by Hezbollah in Lebanon, which caused 37 deaths and over 3,000 injuries, have raised concerns. China has called on Israel to refrain from further attacks, which has been seen as a move in favor of Hezbollah. The question remains whether the explosion in the Chinese peacekeeping force camp in Lebanon was a deliberate demonstration by the Israeli military, and further investigation is needed.
