Samsung has officially announced its Exynos 2500 chipset, a development that arrives later in 2025 than many anticipated.The declaration precedes next month’s rumored Unpacked event.
The Exynos 2500 marks Samsung’s initial foray into 3nm GAA node technology, a notable advancement from the 4nm process used in the Exynos 2400. This transition is expected to yield substantial efficiency gains. samsung also touts fan-out wafer-level packaging (FOWLP) for a slimmer design and improved heat management.
While not quite matching the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s raw power, the Exynos 2500 features a 1+7+2 CPU core configuration, incorporating Arm’s Cortex-X925 (also known as Cortex-X5) clocked at 3.3GHz. The Cortex-A725 performance cores are divided into two groups: two cores at 2.74GHz and five at 2.36GHz. two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores operate at 1.8GHz. Samsung projects a 15% performance increase over the Exynos 2400 due to the Cortex-X5 core alone.
