Global initial public offering activity during the first half of the year reached 509 public debuts raising a combined 194 miljardi ASV dolāru, according to a global report issued by professional services firm EY. While the total number of IPOs dropped by 39 compared to the same period in 2025, the total capital raised surged by more than two times, driven heavily by mega-cap listings.

US Markets Drive Capital Surge on Trillion-Dollar Valuations

In the American market, the second quarter of 2026 saw 51 public offerings raise 120 miljardi ASV dolāru, with nearly teju 72 % of that capital generated by a single listing from SpaceX, according to EY data cited by business sources. EY Baltijas Stratēģijas un Darījumu konsultāciju partneris Guntars Krols noted that the first half of the year ranked as the second most successful period in US IPO history by capital raised, with the second half projected to be record-breaking. Šā gada pirmajā pusē iespaidīgo piesaistītā kapitāla apjomu nodrošināja daži vērienīgi IPO. “SpaceX” IPO vien tika piesaistīti 86,2 miljardi ASV dolāru. Salīdzinājumam – 2025. gada pirmajos sešos mēnešos 548 IPO piesaistīja 62 miljardus ASV dolāru Guntars Krols, EY Baltijas Stratēģijas un Darījumu konsultāciju partneris Krols added that the market remains characterized by a small number of extraordinarily large IPOs that pull disproportionate attention. This dynamic influences when other firms choose to schedule their market debuts, as smaller enterprises avoid clashing with massive transactions.

European Market Focuses on Defense and Critical Infrastructure

Across the Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa (EMEIA) region, the first half of the year brought 177 IPOs raising 16 miljardi ASV dolāru, matching the volume seen during the corresponding period in 2025. Specifically in Europe, the second quarter recorded 16 public offerings that secured 2,2 miljardus ASV dolāru, compared to 17 offerings bringing in 1,6 miljardi ASV dolāru a year prior. EMEIA reģionā tirgus aktivitāte koncentrējas noteiktās nozarēs, proti, aizsardzības industrijā, mākslīgā intelekta jomā un kritiskajā infrastruktūrā. Reģiona izaugsmes perspektīvas ietekmē konflikts Tuvajos Austrumos un karš Ukrainā, kas var izraisīt īstermiņa tirgus svārstības Guntars Krols, EY Baltijas Stratēģijas un Darījumu konsultāciju partneris Despite macroeconomic uncertainties, European IPO activity finds support from two distinct trends. Governments continue channeling funds into infrastructure, energy, industrial, and defense sectors, while investment funds increasingly consider stock market listings for portfolio companies as an exit strategy, despite the longer timeline required compared to an outright sale.

Artificial Intelligence and Global Capital Fuel Asian Growth

Artificial intelligence remains a primary engine for global growth, with rapid expansion concentrated in semiconductors, energy, data center infrastructure, and companies successfully converting AI demand into revenue. Additional market demand appears across aviation, defense, and biotechnology. In China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, second-quarter market activity gained momentum from strong participation by international investors, sovereign wealth funds, and asset managers originating from the Middle East. These entities actively participated in the domestic IPO market, frequently serving as anchor investors. The pipeline for upcoming public debuts is increasingly dominated by deep-tech enterprises. The market features a rising volume of artificial intelligence infrastructure builders, semiconductor creators, robotics firms, and high-tech manufacturers operating under current listing frameworks, while traditional sectors like manufacturing, real estate, and financial services attract minimal investor attention.
