Tsolov ultimately overtook van Hoepen at the final corner to claim the victory.

The result marks Tsolov’s second successive victory of the season, following his Feature Race win at the opening round in Melbourne. This performance has allowed the Bulgarian driver to extend his lead in the championship standings.

Tsolov’s victory came after a challenging start to the weekend. During the Free Practice session on May 1, 2026, Tsolov and his Campos Racing teammate, Mari Boya, both retired early due to technical issues. Tsolov failed to complete a single lap in practice and qualified 10th for the Feature Race, which placed him on pole for the shorter Sprint Race due to the reverse-grid format.
