Formula 1 Extends Canadian Grand Prix Contract Through 2035

formula 1 will continue racing in Montreal for another decade,following an agreement to extend the Canadian Grand Prix contract through 2035. The deal wiht promoters also includes an extension of Bell Media’s media rights.
F1 chief Stefano Domenicali said the extension is fitting as Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary. He called Montreal an incredible city with passionate fans. Domenicali also thanked the Octane Racing Group for upgrading the venue.
Jean-Philippe Paradis, head of the race, said the agreement reflects the event’s iconic status and rich heritage. He added that the goal is to build a best-in-class Grand Prix that showcases canada, Quebec and Montreal.
The Montreal race has moved to the second half of May to accommodate Formula 1’s desire to pair it more closely with the Miami Grand Prix. Operational improvements are also underway, including expanded hospitality areas and better access over the Victoria Bridge to ease traffic.
Paradis told CBC that a three-year plan is in place to elevate the Canadian Grand Prix.He said the aim is to make it a top-tier event.
