The F1 movie has landed nominations in four categories for the 2026 Oscars.
the blockbuster, directed by Joseph Kosinski adn produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Film Editing, Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.
In the Best Picture category, F1 is up against Bugonia, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners and train Dreams.
F1 is among Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Sentimental Value and Sinners in the Best Film Editing category, and Frankenstein, one Battle After Another, Sinners, Sirat and Train Dreams in the best Sound category.
In the Best Visual Effects category, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Jurassic World Rebirth, The Lost Bus and Sinners are nominated alongside F1.
The F1 movie follows nomadic driver Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, as he returns to Formula 1 with the struggling APX GP team alongside rookie driver Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.
The film was shot during actual race weekends and features the drivers from the 2023 and 2024 seasons, including seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, who also served as an executive producer.
