F1’s Toughest Critics Weigh In: Do Tsunoda and Verstappen Think Ricciardo Has What It Takes to Stay in the Game

Verstappen and⁣ Tsunoda ‌Share‍ Thoughts on Ricciardo’s F1 Future

As the F1 Singapore Grand ⁣Prix approaches, rumors surrounding Daniel Ricciardo’s future ⁣in the​ sport continue to swirl. Red ‌Bull teammates Max Verstappen and Hiroki⁣ Tsunoda have shared their thoughts on whether ⁢Ricciardo deserves‌ to stay in F1 for the 2025 ‍season.

Verstappen, who spent ‌three years alongside Ricciardo at Red Bull from 2016 to 2018, expressed his admiration for the ⁣Australian driver. “Daniel is a good guy, and I think he has proven​ himself as⁢ an F1 driver. He’s a friend ​of mine,”​ Verstappen​ said.

When asked ⁤if Ricciardo deserves ⁣to stay in ⁣F1, ⁢Verstappen⁤ responded, “I don’t ‌think⁣ it’s a good thing⁢ to be in​ this ⁤situation, but on⁤ the other hand, I don’t‍ think he needs to‍ feel sorry for ‍himself.” He continued, “At some stages of his career, things might not go‌ his way, but he has‍ achieved a lot of things that everyone else would ⁤envy.”

Verstappen also hinted ⁢at Ricciardo’s potential future plans,‌ saying, “For example, I think it would be nice to try another racing series, ⁣or just relax and have fun on the ​farm.” Ricciardo owns⁤ a farm⁣ in his home country, Australia.

Tsunoda shared a similar opinion, stating, “I‌ have the same opinion as⁤ Max. I respect him a‍ lot. We’ll‌ see what happens. But I like him, and I think we’d all‍ like to see him continue to race.”

Tsunoda emphasized that Ricciardo’s achievements in the sport ⁢are what⁢ matter most. “As Max said, ⁤he’s achieved‍ a ⁢lot, ​so we’ll see what happens,” Tsunoda ‌said.
