Return of Supersonic Aviation to Argentina
This stopover marks a notable moment for Argentina, facilitating the transfer of the first F-16s purchased from Denmark. The arrival of these jets signifies the return of supersonic aviation capability to the Argentine Air Force after a prolonged absence.
F-16 deployment and Modernization Efforts
Argentina acquired a total of 24 F-16s from Denmark, with the initial units-including both single-seat (F-16AM) and two-seat (F-16BM) variants-destined for Río Cuarto Air base. This base will serve as the central maintenance and operations hub for the newly established air fleet.
The incorporation of these advanced fighter aircraft represents a crucial step in modernizing the Argentine Air Force, enhancing its ability to conduct both air defense and surface attack missions with increased versatility and effectiveness.
