Union College’s Garnet Chargers to Compete in 10th Anniversary Friendship Four Tournament
The Garnet Chargers will participate in the 10th anniversary Friendship Four tournament, scheduled to take place on November 28-29, 2025. They will be joined by RIT, Sacred Heart, and Miami (Ohio) in this highly anticipated event.
“We are thrilled to represent Union College and ECAC Hockey in the 2025 Friendship Four,” said Union head coach Josh Hauge. “The opportunity to travel internationally as a team is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we look forward to playing at SSE Arena and exploring Belfast. The 2025-26 season looks set to be an incredible year for our program, and we are grateful for the opportunity.”
A Look Back at Union’s Previous Friendship Four Appearance
Union first participated in the Friendship Four in 2018 and emerged victorious. The team’s winning streak was marked by notable performances, including Jack Adams’ goal in regulation time against Yale in the semifinals and the game-winning goal in the shootout. In the championship game, Union defeated Boston University, with Parker Foo scoring the game-winning goal and goalie Darion Hanson making 39 saves.
“We are thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to play in Belfast,” said junior defender Nick Young. “This is a unique trip and one that our entire team will cherish forever. Our team wants to go there and win, so that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity can continue to happen in our program in the future.”
