McLean Teen Faces Murder Charge in Herndon Shooting Incident
A Fairfax County teenager is in custody, charged with second-degree murder following a Friday night shooting near a shopping center in Herndon, Virginia. Kianmehr Shirinipaziziba, 18, of McLean, Virginia, is accused of fatally shooting 39-year-old Jason Hann.
According to court documents, Shirinipaziziba told police that Hann jumped in front of the Tesla he was driving and began kicking the vehicle. The suspect further claimed Hann appeared to reach toward his waistband before the shooting.
Herndon police responded to a 911 call reporting a man behaving erratically in the roadway on the 300 block of Elden Street. A second call soon followed, reporting the shooting.
Sgt. David Forbach of the Herndon Police Department said officers arrived to find the victim in need of medical attention. Shirinipaziziba was also at the scene and was taken into custody.
Court documents indicate that Shirinipaziziba stated Hann “kicked the mirror and appeared to reach to his waistband.” The documents further state that the driver then produced a Glock 27 9mm handgun, chambered a round, and fired one shot, hitting Hann.
