Lake Province Cracks down on Unlicensed Medical Centers
Authorities in Lake Province have intensified oversight of private medical facilities, resulting in the closure of two centers operating without proper licenses and staffed by unqualified personnel. The actions, carried out by the Consumer Protection Agency in collaboration with the Health Directorate’s Free Treatment Department, underscore a commitment to public health and patient safety.
Unqualified Individuals operating Medical Centers
Recent inspections in Damanhur revealed a woman with only a high school diploma presenting herself as a dentist and performing dental procedures. Another facility specialized in dermatology and cosmetic treatments was found to be managed by an individual lacking the necessary pharmaceutical licenses. Both cases represent serious violations of public health regulations.
Equipment Seized, Legal Action Pending
All medical devices and equipment used in the illicit operations were seized. Both facilities have been sealed, and the cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings. This decisive action signals a zero-tolerance policy towards unauthorized medical practice.
