Police Arrest Individual Transporting Fake Pharmaceuticals in Kétonou Village
On the night of Friday, August 30 to Saturday, August 31, 2024, around 2 am, law enforcement officials in Kétonou, a village in the department of Ouémé, intercepted counterfeit pharmaceutical products.
According to the suspect, who was apprehended while transporting two large packages of fake medicines, the counterfeit products originated from the Owodé border.
The seized medicines were intended for delivery to an intermediary in Kétonou, who would then transport them along the river bank towards Djeffa.
The alleged trafficker was taken into custody and questioned at the Aholouyemè district police station.
An investigation has been launched to dismantle the network responsible for trading counterfeit medicines.
