Families Celebrate Mother’s Day With Free Concert in Pismo Beach

The Pacific Breeze Concert Series marked the beginning of its 17th year on May 10, 2026, with a free community event held at Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach. The performance, which coincided with Mother’s Day, drew families from across the Central Coast and California’s Central Valley to celebrate the holiday through live music and outdoor activities.

The event featured the Damon Castillo Band as the primary musical act. According to reporting from KSBY, the gathering was attended by a diverse group of mothers, including new mothers, boy moms, and dog moms, who spent the holiday watching the performance at the park.

Beyond the musical performance, the celebration included several family-oriented amenities designed to engage attendees of all ages. The venue provided food trucks, face painting stations, and bounce houses to complement the concert experience.

For some attendees, the event served as an introduction to the region. Enjie Rubio and her family traveled from California’s Central Valley to visit Pismo Beach for the first time during the Mother’s Day weekend. Rubio noted the significance of the gathering, stating, It’s the most important thing to be with my family, be around families and at my favorite place, the beach.

Other guests had long-standing personal connections to the location. Cheyenne Baker, who discovered the concert by surprise while visiting the park, described Dinosaur Caves Park as her family’s favorite location. Baker highlighted the park’s ocean views and food options, mentioning that she and her spouse had previously married at the site.

The event also provided a space for multi-generational family gatherings and parental networking. Michelle Castillo, who attended the concert with four generations of her local family, emphasized the value of having a community-focused environment for parents.
