The latest arrest marks a return to legal trouble for Famous Dex following a series of court cases in California that began in late 2020. Those prior matters involved three separate incidents across October and November of 2020, alongside a 2016 security footage incident. During the autumn 2020 incidents, the rapper allegedly physically harmed a woman and later barricaded himself inside a residence with firearms, prompting a SWAT standoff after officers discovered a woman with cuts. Law enforcement also stopped him during a traffic stop and reported finding a loaded gun in his vehicle. Those cumulative events resulted in 19 total charges filed against him by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, spanning domestic violence and weapons possession counts. Court records show he was arrested on a $200,000 bond after violating a protective order during a June 2021 court appearance. On September 1, 2021, he received a sentence of 364 days behind bars.

Sobriety Claims and Music Comeback Attempts

Following his release from custody in late 2021, the rapper entered a rehabilitation facility. In April 2023, he told TMZ that he had achieved 11 months of sobriety and intended to focus on his music career. During that same public update, he promoted plans for a collaborative release titled Rich Forever 5 alongside Rich The Kid and Jay Critch. The current legal proceedings in Nevada interrupt those recovery and professional milestones as jail records confirm his ongoing detention.
