Ziam on Fatherhood and Unexpected UFC 323 Prospect
UFC fighter Ziam has credited becoming a father with a critically important shift in his mindset and motivation, stating, “To be a father is maybe the best thing that has happened in my life.” He acknowledged the importance of time and life experience in personal growth, recognizing that these factors are as impactful as any training regimen. He now fights not only for his own ambitions but also for his son.
This renewed focus comes as Ziam prepares to return to the Octagon after missing a scheduled fight in paris in September. He initially anticipated a return in 2025, but received an unexpected opportunity to compete sooner.
Unexpected Call-Up to UFC 323
Ziam expressed surprise at being offered a fight in December, especially after preparing for a September bout that didn’t materialize. According to Ziam,he informed his manager,Ali Abdelaziz, that he had maintained a high level of training following the cancellation of the Paris fight and was eager to compete in October or November. UFC’s preview of UFC 323 confirms Ziam’s participation in the event.
He had been resigned to waiting until 2025 for his next fight, but the UFC presented him with an opportunity to return to action before the end of 2024.
The Impact of Fatherhood
Ziam emphasized the profound impact fatherhood has had on his mental fortitude. He stated that his motivation has evolved beyond personal dreams to include fighting for his son. This shift in viewpoint appears to have reinvigorated his commitment to the sport.
